Poverty, disease, crime and infamous characters were hallmarks of this place. Evidence of this has been preserved in archaeology and colourful stories. Today, you’ll find the area charming. Tiny bluestone cottages are nestled amongst grander homes of various architectural heritages. After the tour, relax at one of The Rocks’ colourful old fashioned pubs— some of which date back to the seedy beginnings of this portside town.~~~~
