An Australian Luxury Escapes vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence the Half Day Private tour. Your guide will meet you at your hotel this morning to begin this fascinating tour of the historic city of Hobart. We make our way to the suburb of Battery Point via the scenic Salamanca Place, home of the famous Salamanca Markets each weekend. Located just minutes from the city, Battery Point gained its name in reference to a battery of cannons designed to protect the Hobart coastline. From here we take a walk and see the charming homes originally built to house the officers from the garrison in Arthurs Circus and the accompanying charming cottage gardens. Reboarding the vehicle we now make our way the short distance south to Mt Nelson. From here enjoy incredible views of Hobart and the Derwent River. Mt Nelson is the original site of a convict built signal station. We take a look through the station before stopping to enjoy the view and some morning tea. Reboarding the vehicle we now head to the Botanical Gardens located in the heart of Hobart. Officially founded in 1818, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Garden is the second oldest in Australia. The stunning gardens feature native Tasmanian, Arctic as well as international plants. This morning we take time to meander through the stunning displays. Afterwards we reboard the vehicle and make our way back to your hotel.

We begin the drive through Salamanca Place, a cobbled waterfront precinct lined with historic sandstone warehouses, now home to galleries, cafes and the renowned Salamanca Market each weekend. Located just minutes away is the charming suburb of Battery Point. Enjoy a walk through this picturesque area, including a stroll past Arthurs Circus, a quaint ring of Georgian cottages originally built to house officers from the nearby garrison. We then take a short scenic drive south to Mt Nelson, offering panoramic views over Hobart, the Derwent River and beyond. This was the site of the original signal station, built by convicts. Take time to explore the historic station and enjoy morning tea. Returning to the city, we visit the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, officially established in the 1818 and the second oldest in Australia. The beautifully maintained gardens showcase a diverse collection of plants, including species native to Tasmania and the sub-Antarctic. Enjoy time to wonder at your own pace through the grounds. Following your garden visit, we return back to your hotel with the rest of the day at your own leisure.
