With it's range, reliability and versatility it transformed air travel worldwide. Embark on a DC-3 flight and experience the thrill of history as you trace the WWII bombing route over Darwin. This flight departs from Darwin and cruises west towards Mandorah to catch a glimpse of the Liberator Bomber Milady and then cross Beagle Gulf, where WWII shipwrecks lay. Starting from Garden Point, switch to "bombing mode" and retrace the 1942 bombing raid path led by Japanese Baval Commander Mitsuo Fuchida, who had led the attack on Pearl Harbour ten weeks prior. Fly past Verno Islands, Channel Island and Darwin's wharf, where the raid caused significant impacts. The flight concludes with a golden sunset orbit over Mindil Beach, passing East Point before coming in to land.
