Sun kissed days and warm nights make Darwin the perfect city to stage a vibrant, colourful in and outdoor festival. Held in August, the Darwin Festival jams in everything from free outdoor events, theatre, dance and music, to comedy, cabaret, films and workshops, all reflecting the Indigenous, Asian and Pacific cultures of the region. Running for 18 nights, with over 70 productions and 112 events and performances, your visit will give you a taste of the talents of some 1,000 international, national and Territory artists and cultural groups.

While you’re in the capital, see some of the region’s largest saltwater crocodiles and their massive, deadly jaws at Crocosaurus Cove. Hold a baby croc and watch the twice daily feeding frenzy. You can even swim with them, if you’re game! Wind up your stay with an idyllic catamaran cruise on Cullen Bay. Keep an eye out for marine life as the boat’s big sails fill with a cool breeze.
