Dancing with your hands in the air is fun no matter where you do it, but with Darwin's exuberant Greek community around you, the happy vibes become even more infectious. Held in June in Bicentennial Park, the Greek Glenti festival is a massive celebration combining every aspect of Greek culture.

Everything is in big supply - the food, wine, music, dancing and laughter. Keep an eye out for people wearing traditional Greek clothing and forget which country you're actually in.

The excitement continues when you arrive at Corocsaurus Cove and witness giant saltwater crocodiles and hundreds of sharp-toothed babies – some up close. The residents are some of the biggest reptiles held in captivity, and you get to watch them at mealtime.

Round off your visit with a sail along Darwin’s shimmering, pale blue waters onboard a sleek catamaran. Pass by lush mangroves and watch for dolphins.
