Mount Bundy is a working cattle station and is easily accessible from Adelaide River just off the Stuart Highway in Australia’s Top End. Visitors can pop in for the day and go horse riding or stay over for a few nights, it’s your choice. Accommodation varies from campsites along the river and bunk beds in the Cooks Cottage, to a cosy and comfortable private room with ensuite at the Homestead B&B.
The hosts are very warm and welcoming and more than willing to share this little piece of paradise. During my visit I stayed in the Homestead and was introduced to the animals, including a little wallaby that I got to nurse, their friendly dogs and many horses!
I went for a one hour horse ride where I was shown around some of the property and up to the top of the nearby hills to get a greater perspective of the region. The views were simply stunning. Sunset drinks and nibbles on the Homestead balcony finished off my day nicely. I definitely can recommend Mount Bundy Station!
